About Sam Waterston:
Actor, producer, and director Sam Waterston. Waterston is known for his work in theater, television and film. Waterston started his career in theater on the New York stage, appearing in multiple revivals of Shakespeare.
He has been nominated for multiple Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, British Academy Film Awards, and Emmy Awards, having starred in over 80 film and television productions during his decades long career. He has starred alongside Katharine Hepburn, Walter Matthau, Robert Redford and Meryl Streep.
He is perhaps most known for his iconic starring role as Jack McCoy on the NBC television series Law & Order (1994–2010), for which he received a Screen Actors Guild Award along with Golden Globe Award and Emmy Award nominations. He also portrayed Abraham Lincoln in the miniseries Lincoln (1988).
He currently stars in the Netflix comedy series Grace and Frankie with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Martin Sheen.
